Schibsted Grotesk

Schibsted Grotesk was designed by Monday Studio for the Schibsted media group — a Scandinavian publisher operating newspapers and digital news platforms including Aftonbladet and VG — and released as open source in 2022. The design is optimised for news typography: high x-height, sturdy stroke weights, and a true italic that maintains legibility at the small sizes common in print and mobile news reading. Its editorial origin gives it a different character from the generic UI grotesques that dominate open-source catalogues.
