Oswald

Oswald was designed by Vernon Adams as a condensed sans-serif intended for use at display sizes. Released through Google Fonts in 2011, it draws on the American grotesque tradition — narrow proportions, optical corrections, and high x-height — reworked for screen rendering. The condensed construction makes it efficient on space while retaining legibility at headline scale. Adams completed work on Oswald before his death in 2014; subsequent revisions were handled by Kalapi Gajjar and others in the Google Fonts program. No italic is available; the family ships as upright weights only, from ExtraLight to Bold.
