Grenze Gotisch

Grenze Gotisch was designed at Omnibus-Type and released in 2020. It represents a more architectural approach to blackletter. The letterforms are sharper and more vertical than traditional rounded blackletter — strokes are cut with greater precision and the overall construction has a structural quality that references gothic pointed forms. Nine weights from Thin to Black are available on a single upright axis, with variable font support, covering Latin, Latin-extended, and Vietnamese. The weight range makes it possible to use Grenze Gotisch at both text-adjacent and heavy display sizes while maintaining the blackletter character throughout. There is no italic.
