Germania One

Germania One was designed by Wojciech Kalinowski as a contemporary blackletter display face with Latin coverage only. The design draws on the traditional Fraktur and textura blackletter models while smoothing some of the most extreme historical construction: the angularity is present but not archaeological, and the letterforms are legible at display sizes without specialist familiarity with blackletter conventions. Germania One is a single Regular weight with no italic and no variable axis. Its Latin-only coverage and single weight make its deployment context clear — it is a display headline face for situations where blackletter character is the primary typographic intent.
