Crimson Pro
Crimson Pro is a substantial revision and extension of Sebastian Kosch's Crimson Text, developed by Jacques Le Bailly at Baron von Webber and released in 2019. The redesign corrected spacing, refined letterforms, and added the full weight range that the original family lacked, resulting in a variable font spanning eight weights from ExtraLight to ExtraBold with a matching italic. The design sits in the old-style tradition — moderate contrast, angled stress, calligraphic detail — but is tuned for screen reading more deliberately than most Garamond-lineage types. Its combination of book-quality character and extended weight range makes it well suited to long-form editorial publishing, literary sites, and document-heavy applications.
