Cinzel

Cinzel was designed by Natanael Gama and released in 2012. It draws directly from the letterforms carved in stone during the height of the Roman Empire — a contemporary type interpretation of classical inscription lettering, with the proportions and stroke structure of first-century Roman capitals. The result is a display face suited to titles, logotypes, and typographic identities where an authoritative, historical weight is intended. Cinzel has no italic — the inscriptional tradition it references did not use one — and should not be set at text sizes. Available as a variable font covering six weights from Regular to Black.
