Caveat

Caveat was designed by Pablo Impallari and released in 2012 as a handwriting script that functions at ordinary reading sizes rather than only as a display headline. The construction references casual marker-pen writing: strokes are slightly inconsistent in weight, letterforms preserve the natural variation of handwritten Latin, and the overall colour is loose without becoming illegible. Unlike most scripts, Caveat does not rely on heavy ink contrast or swash elaboration — it works through the texture of individual stroke modulation. The family covers Latin and Cyrillic, runs from Regular through Bold on a single upright axis, and has no italic. Variable font axis support is available from Fontsource. At small sizes it retains more legibility than comparable script faces.
