Besley

Besley was designed by Indestructible Type and takes its name from the nineteenth-century typefounder Robert Besley, who registered the original Clarendon design in 1845. The revival preserves the bracketed slab serifs and pronounced stroke contrast that define the Clarendon genre — a genre built for impact at headlines and signage sizes — while adapting proportions for contemporary screen and print use. Available as a variable font spanning six weights from Regular to Black, with a full italic companion. Its assertive, characterful presence makes it most at home in editorial headlines, magazine titles, and branding contexts where a slab serif with personality is appropriate.
