Alegreya

Alegreya was designed by Juan Pablo del Peral at Huerta Tipográfica and first released in 2011. It has received recognition from the Type Directors Club and the ATypI Typeface Design competition. Its calligraphic rhythm and dynamic contrast — qualities closer to pen-drawn old-style types than to rationalist revivals — give it a lively texture well suited to extended book reading. The family includes a full italic that functions as a genuine companion rather than a sloped roman.
